Our charming stable cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage in the beautiful conservation village of Gattonside, only a 5 minute drive or 10 minute walk across the famous River Tweed to the popular and picturesque town of Melrose.
Downstairs the cottage has a comfortable sitting room, a bath/shower room, and a well-appointed kitchen with all amenities. Upstairs, comprises one king size double and one twin bedroom, a second toilet, and great views.
Gattonside is a popular village, a short walk across the river to the popular market town of Melrose. There are great walks along and around the famous salmon River Tweed, and to the Leaderfoot Viaduct. The 10 minute walk to Melrose crosses a delighful pedestrian-only Victorian chain link bridge. Gattonside has two popular restaurants, with the Hoebridge Inn 200m from the cottage, and Seasons a short distance along the road. Nearby Tweedbank has a fast, direct, picturesque Borders Railway link to Edinburgh in which takes only 60 minutes.
